AprèsVin is a small, family-owned company, which extracts more goodness from the grape.  Located in the heart of the Yakima Valley wine country in Washington State, “AprèsVin”, which means “after the wine”, uses the pomace (seeds, skins, and stems) leftover from winemaking to produce artisanal, varietal grape seed oils and nutritious, gluten-free grape seed flours. ApresVin is the first company in the United States to pioneer the commercial production of these delicious and healthful varietal grape seed oils and flours.

Just as a premium winemaker takes extraordinary care to produce wines of distinction and character, we take extraordinary measures at AprèsVin to preserve the natural varietal qualities and nutritious character of our culinary oils and flours.

To make our unique oils and flours we first collect the wine pomace from select wineries in Eastern Washington and carefully keep the seeds separate by variety.   The grape seeds contained in the pomace, which are separated, dried, and cold-pressed, yield extra special, heart-healthy, varietal grape seed oils.  Just like their wine counterparts, there are highly distinctive flavor differences between our oils pressed from white viniferous grapes (Riesling and Chardonnay) and those pressed from red viniferous grapes (Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot).  The remaining press cake (the compressed seed solids which are expelled after the oil is released) is then milled to produce anti-oxidant rich and gluten-free varietal grape seed flours which can be used as nutritious baking additives.

Grape seed oils are extraordinarily versatile in the kitchen!  Use them at room temperature in dips, salad dressings, marinades, and sauces just as you would a premium extra virgin olive oil.  Or use them as cooking oils to sauté, stir fry, or grill.  With their high smoke point (485 degrees F), AprèsVin’s grape seed oils won’t burn when you turn up the heat!

Our all-natural, varietal grape seed oils and flours taste great, are good for you, and promote sustainable winemaking.  We hope you enjoy them as much as we do – Sante!
